One of the key elements of becoming an Authority is the people you surround yourself with. In 2020 four women, Kim Thompson-Pinder, Samantha King, Carol Boston, and Krystle Dookoo all met at an online networking meeting and found that not only did they all really like each other but had valuable skills, talents, and abilities that could help each other grow their businesses faster.

In October they decided to become the Authority Gang and over the next year, they have dedicated themselves to become a force to be reckoned with as they teach, train, and support entrepreneurs in the seven key business building blocks: Authority Marketing, Sales, Communication, Networking, Social Media, Promotion, and Leadership. You will be seeing the four of them all over social media and once a month featured here on the podcast.

I want to help people scale businesses, by getting them on the right track. I share what experts tell me and my own successes and plentiful mistakes so you can avoid them. I love to write and speak about all things entrepreneur related.

I passionately believe that a healthy economy lies in nurturing and encouraging microbiz and SME businesses. Now more than ever, we need both solid start-ups and savvy scale-ups.

I have been involved in many campaigns of different sorts to encourage entrepreneurs
throughout my working life both in the UK and in Europe generally.

I have several decades of experience of both micro and SME’s of my own. I have known some success, shiny awards, and some failure too. All of which added up to huge amounts of learning.

I am now lucky enough to now be living my childhood dream of writing full time. I write about entrepreneurs and entrepreneurship and hope that this too is useful, entertaining, and supportive. The entrepreneurs I speak to leave me in regular awe.

You can see more on my own web site, plus Medium and various other publications. I also guest podcast and do other speaking, though virtually in current times.

EP 158 How To Promote Your Business With Kim Thompson-Pinder and Juanita Wootton-Radko

Kim and Juanita talk about one of the 6 Key Building Blocks to Authority Marketing and that is promoting your business. They share key insights including:

It is not about promoting your products and services, it is about producing outcomes for your clients.

– To promote effectively you need your USP (Unique Selling Position).

– You need to have a plan to promote yourself.

– You should not work on promoting yourself or your business until you have done it for a while, know what you are doing, have your target market firmly in place and have systems for growth.

– Ways to promote yourself

               – Do Facebook lives on other people’s stream who have the same target   market as you but do not sell the same product

               – Podcasts

               – Speaking engagements

               – Radio

               – TV

Have you ever looked at a blank computer screen in frustration because the words won’t come because you are afraid it won’t sound right? Or worse, that it won’t be received well?

Kim spent many years feeling that way after a teacher told Kim that she was, “No good at writing and should stop.”  Discouraged, Kim put writing aside. Then, she came to a crossroads in her life and let those painful words go. She set her words free and let her voice be heard once more. Since then, she has gone on to author five books (with three more on the way this year), two planners, and even a collection of Sudoku books. Most importantly, Kim started RTI Publishing and has helped over one hundred entrepreneurs to become authors and taught them how to use their books to become authorities in their niche and open doors to build their business faster.

Kim understands the power of words and can’t wait to share them with you on the podcast.
