Hopefully, by now, you have had a chance to start reading the book excerpt and see the power of becoming the Authority in your niche.

In today’s lesson, I want to focus on the first of the six key areas of the Author To Authority concept-marketing. I have been an entrepreneur for a long time but never started to see any success until I determined who it was I was created to work with.

For years, I had been trying to be who all my mentors told me I had to be and failed miserably because it was opposite to my true self. No wonder I couldn’t get the results I wanted!

It was only when I decided that I didn’t care anymore what others thought of me and build my business in a way where I could be me, that growth happened. In that process, I also realized that there was a specific group of people that I meant to work with, and the rest didn’t matter business-wise.

What a difference it made! Not only did my business multiply, but now I work with amazing clientele, and it is a joy to serve them.

As I thought about it, it came down to three questions I am going to share with you now.

  1. Who do you serve?
  2. How do you serve them?
  3. Who are you in relation to the first two questions?

When you can answer those three questions, it not only creates your core messaging but allows the effectiveness of your prospecting efforts to increase.

Think of it this way. If you don’t know who you serve, then you may have to connect with a hundred prospects to find the one who will buy from you. It would not take long before you get discouraged and stop looking.


What if you knew who you wanted as a client? Not only would you know where to look to find them, but you might only have to talk to five to ten people to find the one. Imagine what would happen to your income when you can quickly bring clients into your business?
